Naked Accordion Player Chased From Laundromat

Jefferson police are searching for a female suspect who allegedly was seen performing with her accordion in the nude at a local laundromat Wednesday. Customers at Sit 'n' Spin, just north of the square, were startled when the suspect emerged from a front-loader and began a refrain of "Lady of Spain". Some of those on hand were quite entertained by the performance, but two older ladies were offended and one apparently called the local police.

"I was not so much offended by the nudity as I was by the accordion playing," stated Ralph Hindman, who was on hand to witness the event. "It was really bad, even for an accordion." Several patrons agreed. They pointed out that the previous month, when naked banjo players performed at Peep's, the police were not brought in. "Lady of Spain was a really bad selection. We were definitely more of a polka crowd," said Hindman. "To tell you the truth, I didn't even notice she was naked until she bent over to add quarters."

Police sketch artist Tom Nipp was able to create a composite image of the suspect. If you know of anyone matching this description, you are asked to contact the LEC.
