Jefferson is home to many examples of fine architecture. In our previous pieces, we featured quite a few interesting houses around Jefferson. Now, we are ready to show you the sixth installment featuring still more homes in Jefferson. Many have an interesting historic past. To make this piece even more entertaining, we have added some history, when available, to each house (research by Braxton Hicks and Rick Bland). 401 N. Cedar - home of Edward W. Toal, currently the longtime residence of Ken and Linda Pedersen

306 N. Vine - home of L.E. Curtis; currently the longtime home of Don and Janet Ott and family

305 E. Lincolnway - the many residents here included, in order: Albert Knapper, Robert Horak, Edward Denhardt, Roxanne Louk, later Roxanne and Chistain Steburg

406 S. Wilson - longtime home of Keith Richardson; currently the home of Gary and Jane Parker

700 S. Wilson - home of Albert Bauer; later the home of John and Karen Rush, current residents are Gary and Phyllis Woodley

725 S. Chestnut - longtime home of James and Martha Kearney, current resident Susan DeWitt; owners Richard and Betty DeWitt

701 S. Chestnut - parsonage, First Methodist Church

411 S. Chestnut - home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward T. Gamble; later Mrs. A.D. Brandt; Mim Clause lived upstairs for many years; later still the home of John Beltz; current owner David Lane

 

412 S. Locust - home of Ron Lau, later Duane Dozier, currently home to Thomas and Susan Wind

610 S. Locust - home of Mabel King, currently the longtime home of William and Anne Butler

702 S. Locust - home of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Covault and family; later Helen Lehman, MD William Buckley, and later Craig and Shirley Stapleton

1300 Southfield Drive - home of Keith and Sharon Semke, later owners included Thomas Taylor and Michael Hunter; current owners Bret and Theresa Durbin

1108 McDuffie Drive - many residents in this home over the years included, in order: Nina Sutton, Dean and Ann Arbuckle, Jerry and Carol DeBoom, and Cliff and Millie Said. Current owners are Robert and Glenna Strong.

1109 McDuffie Drive - home of Vern Marten, Harlan Sterk, Sam Miller, later the longtime home of Lyle Marshall; current owner is Michael Richards

305 W. Edgewood - longtime home of Russell Holt, currently owned by Lynda Engh

407 W. Edgewood - longtime home of Gerald Clause; later home of Bob Schwarzkopf

202 S. Oak - many Jeffersonians called this home over the years, including (in order): Dick Unger, Gary Smith, Don Lowmiller, Dave Minnehan; currently the home of Aaron and Shelly Schroeder

108 S. Maple - home of RonDo Beauty Salon; later Homer Turpen, still later the home of Robert Lutz, later Tricia Monthei, currently owned by Loren and Debora Greenough

503 W. South - home of Rev. Grady Waters; currently the longtime home of Francis (Jim) Gorman and his wife Barb

408 W. South - owned by Dr. John and Mary Black; later the longtime home of Bill and Shirley Franey
